Roundtable Discussion on Health Equity at the White House

Events
April 21, 2015

The White House Council on Women and Girls cordially invites you to attend a Roundtable discussion on Health Equity in celebration of National Minority Health Month

DETAILS
Thirty years ago, the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the path breaking “Heckler Report” on health disparities in America.  The Office of Minority Health was created in 1986 as one of the most significant outcomes of this report and was reauthorized by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in 2010.
Dr. Nadine Gracia, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Minority Health at HHS will moderate this two-hour Roundtable on “Health Equity in Our Lifetime”. She will be joined by a panel of Administration officials and experts from the academic, private sector, and non-profit health communities. Panelists will cover wide-ranging topics such as how behavioral health impacts physical health, the connection between health and community economic development, the role of private industry in population health and what policies are needed to improve the health of all Americans, including members of minority groups.

WHAT: Roundtable Discussion on Health Equity

WHEN: Friday, April 24th, 2015 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM
