Please join us for the March NACDD Health Equity Council General Member Meeting to learn more about an exciting new resource. The Health Equity Leadership & Exchange Network (HELEN) is a collaborative effort between the National REACH Coalition, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the National Collaborative for Health Equity, designed to bolster leadership and the exchange of ideas and information among communities of color and other vulnerable populations relative to the advancement of health equity in laws, policies, and programs.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Brian Smedley who is the HELEN Co-Principal Investigator and Executive Director of the National Collaborative for Health Equity. Dr. Smedley will describe how HELEN could be a useful resource as you seek to address health disparities in your work. Dr. Smedley will also lead us in a discussion about place, race, and health–the role of residential segregation as a “root cause” of health inequities.
