The National Collaborative for Health Equity (NCHE) is proud to announce our fourth cohort for the Culture of Health Leaders Institute for Racial Healing (CoHLI). The distinguished group of 20 individuals was selected based on their leadership experiences related to the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation framework (TRHT). In response to the growing challenges facing communities across the country, this cohort is focused on leaders doing work to expand and protect voting rights and those working to combat the harms of current immigration policies.
The leaders represent disciplines including the arts, racial healing practitioners, community bridge builders, faith leaders, healthcare, public health, local civic leaders, activists, researchers, policymakers and more, from 14 states across the country.
CoHLI is a 12-month Institute experience with unique training activities, workshops, and network-building opportunities. Leaders will contribute to an expanding movement challenging historical and contemporary narratives that foster polarization. They will experience and share approaches for building higher levels of community cohesion and for sustaining resilience during and following turbulent times. The leaders will focus on the oft-ignored healing component of the work that is required for lasting societal transformation.
The fourth CoHLI cohort will begin the Institute in November. Selected leaders will receive:
- An intergenerational and diverse cohort experience with virtual and in-person sessions.
- A flexible funding award to advance the leaders’ work.
- Grounding in the TRHT framework and opportunities to apply it to real-life challenges in local communities.
- Optional mentorship opportunities to build leaders’ capacity, assist with strategic planning, and foster professional development.
- An opportunity to build connections and networks with CoHLI alumni and participants across NCHE program areas (TRHT Legacy Places and Leveraging HOPE to Transform Public Health Data Systems participants).
