Cohort 3 Live Expert October 10.9.24: Understanding the Relational Worldview as a Decolonization Strategy
Colonization has had a devastating impact on Indigenous peoples. This presentation examines how racial healing is facilitated by using Indigenous ways of understanding healing for collective and personal trauma. Indigenous people and their allies can intentionally work to decolonize themselves and use culture as a resource for resilience. Terry Cross uses the relational worldview model to demonstrate a path that rejects colonial lies about Indigenous inferiority and helps leaders lift up Indigenous ways of knowing as vital for helping and healing communities and individuals.
