Developed by the National Collaborative for Health Equity in collaboration with New Mexico PLACE MATTERS teams and the New Mexico Health Equity Partnership, this 2015 statewide policy agenda outlines a comprehensive strategy to confront health inequities by addressing the intertwined challenges of environmental degradation, economic exploitation, and inadequate community infrastructure affecting people of color. The report recommends several targeted actions—including establishing a Health in All Policies Task Force, capping predatory lending rates at 36%, enacting the Consolidated Environmental Review Act for stronger pollution safeguards, and adopting local Complete Streets ordinances and Shared Use Agreements to enhance safe and accessible community spaces—to ensure that all New Mexicans have the opportunity to live healthier, more equitable lives.
