Despite the devastation that COVID-19 creates in our communities, authentic narratives have still managed to form around the country that are improving the quality of life. It is so important that we identify and share these positive stories; it gives all of us more hope for the future. For instance, we know the value of eating healthy food. We also know that in many Black and Brown communities often there are few, if any, sources of fresh, nutritious food. In Chicago, a new initiative offers low-income people opportunities to eat at select restaurants, where they don’t feel stigmatized by using food stamps. These are the types of positive stories that we want you to document here.
The mission of the National Collaborative for Health Equity is to promote health equity by harnessing data, developing leaders, and catalyzing partnerships across the many different sectors that share responsibility for creating a more equitable and just society.
