Standing Rock Sioux Tribe releases micro-doc exploring efforts to protect water resources and sacred tribal land

Standing Rock Sioux Tribe announced yesterday the release of Mni Wiconi: The Stand at Standing Rock, a new, 10-minute film that explores the nearly eight-month battle to stop construction of the pipeline on sacred tribal lands.

Mni Wiconi – Lakota for water is life – powerfully shares the effort of water protectors and allies to hold ceremonial prayer and peaceful protest; to protect sacred land; to defend tribalway of life and tribal land; and to fight back against centuries of Native oppression.  (Read more)
